Hello from the pastor's desk,
I would just like to tell you about your new parsonage family. I am 46 years old and i have been married for nearly 24 years to my
lovely wife Mary. We have two living children, Katie age 22, who is a recent graduate from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and Mikal (pronounced Michael) age 7. We have a daughter Virginia who is in the loving care of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Being a bi-vocational pastor my current employer is FEI Company. FEI manufactures electron microscopes for the semi-conductor and science research and development industries. We employ hundreds of engineers globally to maintain these multi-million dollar instruments. As a technical support engineer, I have traveled all over the world as a system expert to solve issues when our local engineers run into trouble or become stuck without a solution. This has provided many opportunities to witness for Jesus in many countries; I have been referred to as a non-commissioned Nazarene missionary or Corporate Missionary. I have many experiences witnessing for Christ from the places i have traveled to for my company in the last 5 years, each one of them a blessing.
Mary and I have been raised in a Holiness church since birth. I started out with my grandmother at a Christian Baptist Church in Minford, Ohio, moving to the Church of the Nazarene at the age of 6. Mary attended the Church of the Nazarene with her grandmother in Springfield, Ohio.
Mary and I have known each other since the age of 10. It was our former childhood Sunday School teacher who reintroduced us while i was serving in the US Navy and Mary was attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University. So you see attending Sunday School may lead to more than just getting to know Jesus.
Mary is a stay at home Mom, which is more than a full time job. She has a degree from MVNU in elementary education K-8 with a minor in science. Mary has worked many different jobs always allowing my career to move us from here to there. When our son Mikal was born Mary stopped working outside the home. Her interests include spending time with the family and reading.
You might say that we are just an old-fashioned preacher and family. We are passionate about living a simple life reflecting Christ in
humility to a post modern world that could benefit from simply taking a deep breath now and then.
It is our pleasure to be here in Havelock, North Carolina serving Jesus and you at Coastal Beacon Church of the Nazarene. We would like to say "Thank you" to all who have assisted us in arriving here. One thing to note is that I will be holding regular office hours at the church Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
